The Arnhem Land adventure continues as Jase wants to backtrack to a fork in the road they passed four days ago. This track is supposed to lead to a secluded beach that meets up with a river system that’s sure to have some good fishing. The chainsaws are ready, because this is not the beaten path.

Water crossings, tight tracks and downed trees mean the recovery gear gets a workout as they navigate their way through. They’re motivated to get to that beach before nightfall, so they press on.
Jase spots a huge ant nest built in a pandanas. Simon gets bit while Jase is preps a handful of ant tea.
As the trees open up to sand, they know they’re close and thoughts turn to dinner. After a quick camp set-up, they head for the rocky outcrop to toss in a lure. Jack and trout could be on the menu tonight!
The next morning, they head down the soft sandy track. Simon has the heavier trailer, so his fuel consumption is a concern… especially given an error at the fuel pump earlier.
They press on as far as they can with Jase towing the big trailer. Then it’s time to hop in the side-by-side to continue the journey with the little tinny in tow. And the effort is worth it, as the fish are on the bite when they finally get the boat in the water! But the sharks know the hot spots too, and so they end up with one and a half mackerels. That’s enough to feed the crew with some Honey Soy Mackerel bites.
But for now, the boys will head back to restock and then find a new place to explore here in Arnhem Land
