THIS WEEK ON ALL 4 ADVENTURE…
Jase and Simon are starting out in Borroloola but the goal is the Gulf. Before they head out, they take a quick tour of the Old Police Station Museum and are inspired by one of Leichhardt’s blaze trees. So it’s off into the bush they go with corrugations and creek crossings ahead.
The come across more rusted out classic cars. Makes you grateful for good recovery gear for the reassurance when out on these unpredictable tracks!
The find a place to camp, and Simon’s got a tip to make unloading the firewood easier before setting up his rooftop tent (now available on the webstore). Meanwhile, Jase is cooking up some Custard Apple Tarts topped with ice cream for dessert.
The next morning they head out in search of a spot to fish. Old mate Stew forges a path in the Polaris as they try to find a place to get across the river. Their first spot ends up being a bit too deep, but a rough decent further along is worth the effort for a shallower crossing. Brumbies greet them on the other side.
The path to the boat launch isn’t cut and dry this time… not dry at all. So a new path is attempted with a bogging or two. But soon they’re able to find a place to camp and unwind.
They launch the boat in a secluded spot and head toward the choppy gulf. There’s cod and queenies, but all Simon can catch are ‘cudas. Heading back to the camp, they come across a barra paradise and their early disappointment is forgotten at this jackpot spot.
