THIS WEEK ON ALL 4 ADVENTURE…
Jase and Simon are heading through the Pilbara and soaking in the landscape. They’ve got the time, because it’s a bit slow going through this area they liken to a mini Grand Canyon or the Wild West. An unexpected river crossing adds a bit of fun once they’ve aired down.
They’re on their way to meet up with a mate who has a secret spot to show the boys. The ‘secret’ is… no motors allowed in this waterhole, so they craft some make-shift paddles and take the tinny out to see if any barra are on the bite. And while they don’t reel in any prize winners, Kiel has an offer for them to redeem themselves in the not-too-distant future.
The next morning, they’re off for another drive though some rocky country. Jump ups, holes and bumps are a challenge with a reward at the end. A dip in the hot springs hits the spot before Jase cooks up a new recipe he’s come up with for an old favourite, Jaffle Iron Jam Donuts.
There’s one more destination for the boys to get to on this leg of the journey with a rocky path to navigate which is a bit of fun. But don’t forget: what goes down must come back up! They walk the steep descent to get a feel for their wheel placements. Going down is the easy until Simon gets hung up with the caravan. Out come the high-lift jacks, and the boys do a little landscaping to get some rocks back under the wheels.
After a night in the gorge, the crew heads over to Stuart’s Pool. It’s too cold for a swim, so they test their skipping skills. There’s time for a quick coffee before putting their rigs to the test, because the only way out is up. And it is steep! It’s a white-knuckle ending to this scenic spot, as they rev, winch, and roar their way back to the top!
