Cape York is unforgiving at the best of times. Add years of cyclones, washed-out tracks, overgrown country and places that haven’t seen a four-wheel drive in years, and the challenge becomes something else entirely. That’s exactly what the All 4 Adventure team is chasing in Cape York Rediscovered.
This time, the mission isn’t simply to head north. Jase and Simon are returning to parts of the Cape they haven’t visited in years, bringing Mitch along to experience this country for the first time. They want to discover what remains, what has changed and whether some of their old routes can still be conquered.
The adventure will take them from the rugged country around Palmerville, where the boys will search for gold, to forgotten tracks buried deep in the Cape. They’ll attempt to reopen sections of the legendary Starke Track, push their way back towards the coast at Bathurst Head and explore country reshaped by years of wild weather.
Then there’s the fishing. The team has its sights set on the remote west coast, towing boats deep into isolated country in search of untouched waterways and some of the best fishing Cape York has to offer. Getting there, however, is going to be half the battle.
Jase is behind the wheel of his chopped 300 Series LandCruiser, towing the big boat and packed with new equipment for the mission. Simon arrives with one of the biggest setups of the trip—a stretched 200 Series carrying the CFMOTO buggy and towing a SeaJay tinny. Mitch rounds out the convoy in his rebuilt 80 Series LandCruiser, ready to put the old-school rig through its toughest test yet.

But in country this remote, plans rarely survive for long. Breakdowns, brutal terrain, disappearing tracks and huge recoveries will test both the crew and their machines.
Every kilometre deeper into the Cape takes them further from help, where even the smallest mechanical problem can quickly turn into a major recovery operation. For Jase and Simon, it’s about rediscovering country they thought they knew. For Mitch, it’s about experiencing Cape York for the very first time.
For all three, it’s about finding out whether they can still reach the places that made them fall in love with the Cape in the first place.
